Poor Pluto

The International Astronomical Union has voted to remove Pluto from the solar system--as a planet, that is. Now we're down from nine planets to eight. Pluto is now considered a "dwarf planet".

So what is the social significance? Anyone?

Still, let's have a moment of silence for Pluto. You will always be a planet in my eyes.

Hahahaha. Funny. So what do we do with that solar system memory thing to remember the order of the planets... My Very Eager Mother Just Served Us Nine... that's it, no more serving us Pickles or Pizzas or anything. Those textbook people gotta come up with a new one.

I am puzzled. How in the world can anyone remember anything about the solar system with a phrase like that?

I will take the initiative to come up with a new memory device to assist our children, our future.

Check back in later...

The first word of each letter in that phrase is the first letter of the planets in their order from the sun. So the planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, etc... and I only remember that cuz My Very Eager Mother, etc.
